OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is one of the world's most recognised textile safety certifications. It tests textiles and their components for hundreds of harmful substances, helping ensure they're safe for direct contact with skin.
At OLESSA, we don't see this as a premium feature - we see it as the minimum standard. That's why we prioritise OEKO-TEX® certified materials across our collection and continue working towards certification of our finished garments.
What does OEKO-TEX® test for?

Our fibres and dyes are OEKO-TEX® certified. As we work towards certification of our finished garments, we've independently tested the final products because we believe the garment you wear should be held to the same high standard as the materials it begins with.

TENCEL™ isn't simply another name for lyocell. It's a premium fibre brand produced by Lenzing, with strict requirements around responsible sourcing, manufacturing and environmental performance.
Before we're permitted to use the TENCEL™ name, our fabrics are independently verified to confirm they contain genuine LENZING™ Lyocell fibres and meet Lenzing's licensing standards.
When you see TENCEL™ on an OLESSA piece, you can be confident you're wearing an authentic fibre backed by one of the world's leading fibre innovators.

The dyeing, knitting, printing and manufacturing processes can all affect the final product. That's why we've independently tested our finished garments - giving us confidence that the product you wear meets the same high standards as the fibres it began with.

That's why we choose to work with manufacturing partners who undergo regular BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) audits - an internationally recognised framework that assesses social responsibility, working conditions and ethical manufacturing practices.

Depending on the application, we use a combination of certified compostable packaging and Pollastic® mailers made from recycled Ocean Bound Plastic - selecting the solution best suited to each purpose while helping reduce environmental impact.
