our standards

Confidence begins long before your garment reaches you.

We believe every stage of a garment's journey matters. From the fibres we source to the partners who spin, knit, dye and sew them, we carefully consider every step that contributes to the finished product.

Recognised certifications, independent testing and responsible manufacturing aren't optional extras - they're the foundation of every OLESSA garment.

PLEASE NOTE:

To balance transparency with protecting our proprietary supply chain, supplier-identifying information has been redacted from the certificates below. Where multiple certificates exist for the same standard across different materials or production stages, we've included one representative certificate.

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100

Certified for what matters most: what touches your skin.

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 is one of the world's most recognised textile safety certifications. It tests textiles and their components for hundreds of harmful substances, helping ensure they're safe for direct contact with skin.
At OLESSA, we don't see this as a premium feature - we see it as the minimum standard. That's why we prioritise OEKO-TEX® certified materials across our collection and continue working towards certification of our finished garments.

What does OEKO-TEX® test for?

  • PFAS and fluorinated compounds (where applicable under the standard)
  • Formaldehyde
  • Heavy metals
  • Harmful dyes and colourants
  • Pesticide residues
  • Phthalates and plasticisers
  • Hundreds of additional harmful substances
Testing requirements are regularly updated as new scientific evidence emerges.
Our fibres and dyes are OEKO-TEX® certified. As we work towards certification of our finished garments, we've independently tested the final products because we believe the garment you wear should be held to the same high standard as the materials it begins with.
LENZING™

Authenticity you can verify.

TENCEL™ isn't a generic fibre - it's a registered fibre brand produced by Lenzing. Before we're permitted to use the TENCEL™ name, our fabrics and products must be independently verified to confirm they contain genuine LENZING™ Lyocell fibres and comply with Lenzing's licensing requirements.
When you see TENCEL™ on an OLESSA piece, you can be confident it's the real fibre - not simply a generic lyocell.

What does Lenzing verification mean?

  • Confirms the use of genuine LENZING™ Lyocell fibres.
  • Verifies fibre composition before the TENCEL™ trademark can be used.
  • Gives us access to approved product labels, claims and brand assets.
  • Protects customers from misleading fibre claims.
